Greetings adventurers, and welcome! I am Gash the Good, guardian of Hazirawn, redeemed fiend, protege to the Raven Queen and disciple to Decus Claritas, Solar of the Outer Realms, the avatar of Redemption.
I have invited you to join in a solemn quest bestowed by my mistress the Raven Queen, righting a great affront to her cosmic order.
In the domain known as Barovia the Dark Powers have conspired to cheat my mistress of the proper ending she has ordained for the inhabitants. Seeking to cheat Death, the rightful domain of my mistress, the Count Strahd von Zarovich of Barovia has sought to usurp her authority and spread his brand of undeath across his Domain. This great evil must be defeated and justice restored.
Thus I have called those of you who are willing to join me in this quest to purge the Domain of Dread, cleansing the undead scourge known as Count Strahd von Zarovich, First Vampire and Dark Lord of Barovia.
The Raven Queen has guided me to this place, and from here it is hoped we may enter the Dark Mists and confront the wickedness that lays beyond. Doing so will not be easy, but we wield the power of cosmic justice. If you do not fear the shadow, join us....
